On October 16, 2018 the enlarged Collegium meeting “On the performance results of the state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first nine months of 2018 and further tasks for 2018” was carried out in the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the Agency of management, departments and divisions of the central office, Main Computer Center, the main statistical department of the regions, Dushanbe city, the statistical offices of the rayons of republican subordination and invited specialists from ministries, departments, of the republic, including ministries of finance, labor, migration and employment, transport, agriculture, industry and new technologies, Tax Committee, customs service and communication service.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Hasanzoda G.K.
The performance results of the state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first nine months of 2018 and further tasks for 2018 were presented by the First Deputy Director of the Agency on statistics, Mr. Shokirzoda Sh.Sh. In particular, it was noted that the statistics bodies, guided by the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Majlisi Oli, instructions of the Leader of State and Decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on statistical issues, the statistical work program for the first 9 months of 2018 was performed.
During this period, 476 resolutions and instructions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan have been received, including 58 laws and resolutions of the Majlisi Milli and Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, 1175 letters from ministries and departments, 254 letters from local statistical bodies and 169 emails where the answers have been presented in time.
During this time, more than 7.4 thousand of statistical works were presented. The results of the 2017 Tajikistan Demographic and Health Survey (TjDHS)/ 2017) were discussed by technical groups and experts of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan and were published.
In a view of introduction of electronic household books in the jamoats, the work started in Nurek town of Khatlon Region and Zafarabod district of Sughd Region.
In the first nine months of 2018, in accordance with the statistical works program, 30 statistical digests, 171 bulletins, 53 information, 167 express information were prepared.
In June, the Agency on statistics held the final conference on completing the implementation of the National Strategy for Development of Statistics Project, Grant ECASTAT, which commenced on May 29, 2015 and ended on June 30, 2018.
In order to implement the Government Decree as of February 8, 2017, No. 57 “On Population and Housing Census in the Republic of Tajikistan”, the order of the Director of the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was signed on August 31, 2018, No. 49 “On conducting of a pilot population and housing census of the Republic of Tajikistan at 64 and 91 microdistricts of Dushanbe city and Nurek town of Khatlon region” and this work is being implemented from October 10 to October 24.
The reports of statistical agencies for the first nine months of 2018 and further tasks were heard at the Collegium meeting at the republican, regional level and Dushanbe city. During the meeting, various issues of qualitative maintenance of statistical work, timeliness and accuracy of statistical information, compliance with the current methodology for the formation of official statistics were discussed.
