Today, in the cities of Bokhtar and Kulyab, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), a three-day training was launched for heads of departments and divisions of the Agency for Statistics and specialists on organizing the census within the framework of the new project “Strengthening demographic statistics in Tajikistan” funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.
In total, about 70 specialists of various levels, including representatives of state statistics bodies, will be trained in this training. The main goal of the event is to develop a comprehensive organizational plan for the population and housing census by the training participants, which will be held from October 1 to 15, 2020.
The project "Strengthening Demographic Statistics in Tajikistan" aims to support the CA in collecting and systematizing demographic data during the population and housing census, as well as increasing the efficiency of their use in the process of long-term planning, budgeting at all levels and implementation of regional investment programs.
The Government of the Russian Federation has allocated $ 2.15 million to support this project.
