According to the Twining Partnership Contract signed between the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Joint Venture (Consortium) headed by DevStat, the visit was made by the Expert, Mr. Vladimir Bessonov from March 16 to 20, 2018 on seasonal adjustment.
Mr. Vladimir Bessonov provided support on developing skills of the AS specialists in conducting seasonal adjustment of socio-economic indicators. The main objective of the expert mission is to provide methodological assistance to the AS specialists in the form of practical training to improve the use of statistical seasonal adjustment methods of various statistical indicators (SNA, enterprise statistics, prices, etc.).
Within the framework of this mission, the AS specialists got acquainted with modern seasonal adjustment methods, the JDemetra + package and the ESS guidelines on seasonal adjustment.
Presentations were carried out for the AS employees, where the objectives of the seasonal adjustment, the requirements for the initial data, the experience of monitoring socio-economic processes using the results of seasonal adjustments, work with the JDemetra + package using economic data of the Republic of Tajikistan (industry, construction, prices, economy, foreign trade, paid services to the population, transport, GDP) have been considered.
