The United Nations Department of Statistics (UN Statistical Division) is developing the Project "Monitoring the Implementation of the Goals of Sustainable Development".
As part of this project, from July 30 to August 3, 2018, experts from the United Nations Department of Statistics, Ms. Elena Jasus and Mr. Vladimir Markhonko, visited the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and examined the statistical potential of Tajikistan in the context of indicators of the goals of sustainable development.
In this regard, a number of meetings were organized with the leadership of the Agency on Statistics, the heads of the Agency and departments of the Agency's central office and the Agency's working group on statistics to monitor the indicators of sustainable development goals.
Also, experts of the UN Statistics Department held a number of meetings with representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic of Tajikistan, including the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment.
It should be noted that during the meeting the indicators of the goals of sustainable development, the number of current indicators, and collected in subsequent years were analyzed, as well as the need for modern methodology and solutions to problems in this area.
