According to the Twining Partnership Contract signed between the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Joint Venture (Consortium) headed by DevStat the visit was made by the International Expert, Mr. Olexander Osaulenko from May 7 to May 11, 2018 on the creation of the training center under the Mountain College.
The main objective of the Expert mission was to familiarize with the structure of the Mountain College and its material and technical base in terms of its compliance for the creation of the training center for the training of industry statisticians; to prepare draft Regulations on the Training Center, including the purpose of creation, structure and areas of work; to provide advice in preparation of the contents of the curriculum and training program. In addition, to conduct a brief audit and discuss the issue of the effective use of office equipment obtained in the framework of the Project at the Statistical College in Vahdat, to provide recommendations for the training of statisticians in the future.
Moreover, the Expert mission also included the provision of the expert assessment of the course of statistics at the National University; to provide the proposal on the organization of short-term training courses for employees of the central offices and local bodies of statistics at the National University (department of statistics) and under the Training Center of the AS.
It should be noted that in the Vahdat Statistical College the computers allocated are rationally used and currently it requires the equipping with world statistical programs that are widely used. In addition, it will be very useful to train students on modern statistical methodology. In order to strengthen cooperation with the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Audit of Ukraine, a useful dialogue has been established.
During the meeting and familiarization with the training programs of the Institute for Advanced Studies and the Statistics Department of the National University of Tajikistan, the Expert provided his visions on improving the structure of the training programs.
We would like note that the Expert Mr. Olexander Osaulenko is the Rector of the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Audit of Ukraine and called on the National University of Tajikistan for further cooperation.
