The Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan presents the initial results of 2017 Tajikistan DHS in the Key Indicators Report/TDHS/2017

This report presents up-to-date estimates of key demographic and health indicators.

Specifically, the Tajikistan DHS collected information on fertility and contraceptive use, maternal and child health and nutrition, childhood mortality, domestic violence against women, child discipline, awareness and behavior regarding HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other health-related issues.

The 2017 Tajikistan DHS is a follow-up survey to the 2012 Tajikistan DHS survey and provides updated estimates of key demographic and health indicators.

The data was collected from August 8 to November 11, 2017. The 2017 Tajikistan Demographic and Health Survey was implemented with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) in Tajikistan provided additional funds for the survey. ICF provided technical assistance through The DHS Program, a USAID-funded project providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of population and health surveys in countries worldwide.
