From October 31 to November 3, 2022, the Agency on Statistics hosted a kick-off meeting on a twinning partnership between the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and a consortium headed by the Center of Statistical Surveys, Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the consortium Abzal Sagatov - Team Leader, Alexey Ponomarenko (Higher School of Economics, Moscow) - SNA Expert, Kanat Nasharov and Abylai Basibekov - IT Experts and Miras Leyla - Lawmaking Expert (lawyer).
The purpose of holding the kick-off meeting is to discuss and agree on a detailed work plan for the implementation of the Project "Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan" No. IDA D8360-TJ, as well as discuss administrative and organizational issues of the implementation of the Contract signed on August 18, 2022.
A meeting was held with the Director of the Agency on Statistics to discuss plans, the overall goal of the twinning partnership within the framework of the "Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan", and the expected results from the twinning partnership (TP).
Priority tasks for the implementation of a detailed plan for TP were discussed, as well as optimization of all forms of statistical reporting, including intra-departmental reports, full transition to electronic reporting and improvement of the website.
Separate meetings were held on ICT, legislation and SNA, seasonal adjustment, fixed assets, register, etc. During the meetings, issues of the current state of affairs, problems and ways to solve them during the implementation of the project on bilateral partnership were considered.
There was a separate meeting with representatives of companies hired by the Agency on Statistics on the issues of “Collecting and entering data into electronic household books: full transition to electronic household books in jamoats; improvement the construction of the CPI calculation based on the use of the geometric average price formula, "core inflation and housing price index".
A meeting of the SNA expert with representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Tajikistan was held with the participation of the SNA department and financial statistics of the AS on GFS and SNA issues.
Representatives of the AC, PIG and the Consortium and key experts discussed the comments and proposals from the key departments and departments of the AC and MCC on the detailed work plan and made appropriate changes.
A meeting was held with representatives of the World Bank to discuss issues of Twinning partnership.
