The delegation of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the Director of the Agency on Statistics, take part in the 19th meeting of the Council - United Nations Institute of Statistics for Asia and the Pacific and the 18th office seminar for senior managers of statistical offices on December 13-15 . These meetings are planned to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Republic of Malaysia, which began today, December 13.
The meeting of the Council is organized by the United Nations Institute for Statistics for the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and the main issue of its work is to review the work done in cooperation with the statistical authorities of the countries, the action plan for 2024 and long-term plans for 2025-2029. This Council take into account the proposals of the first heads of state statistics bodies to organize advanced training courses for specialists in the field of statistics in the coming years.
Also on the sidelines of the Council meeting, the statistics section of the UN Economic and Social Commission for the Asia-Pacific region organized the 18th office seminar for the first heads of statistical agencies in the Asia-Pacific region, where participants have the opportunity to share experience in the development of the national statistical system and exchange achievements. The main topic of this seminar is the correct implementation of the Fundamental principles of official statistics in the statistical authorities of the countries of the region.
Moreover, it is planned to organise the meetings of the Director of Agency on Statistics with the head of the UN Statistical Institute, the Director of the Malaysian Statistics Office, a representative of the UN Statistics Department, other development partners and representatives of the regional statistical agency on the development of further cooperation in the direction of training highly qualified personnel and sharing experience with other countries .
