On January 18, 2020, at the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, an expanded meeting of the collegiums "On the results of the activities of statistical bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2020 and tasks for 2021" was held with the participation of representatives of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, ministries: economic development and trade, labor , migration and employment of the population, agriculture, energy and water resources; committees: local development, tax, environmental protection, tourism development, the Customs Service and heads of departments and departments of the central office, the Main Computing Center, the main departments of statistics of the Agency in GBAO, regions and Dushanbe, departments, departments and sectors of statistics of cities and districts republican subordination.
The meeting was opened with an introductory speech by the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mrs. G. Hasanzoda. and it was noted that despite the situation in the world, the Agency has been fruitfully carrying out its activities in 2020. This is evidenced by the conduct of an important campaign - the Population and Housing Census of the country.
The results of the activities of the state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2020 and the tasks for 2021 were presented by the First Deputy Director of the Agency on Statistics Shokirzoda Sh. Sh. In particular, it was noted that the statistical bodies carry out their activities on the basis of the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Majlisi Oli, decrees , orders of the President, Resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of statistics and socio-economic programs and plans. fully and efficiently fulfilled the tasks set before the statistics bodies on time.
In 2020, 2672 documents and letters were received by e-mail from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, ministries, committees, departments, institutions, organizations, local statistical bodies. Of the total number of received documents, 1358 documents were entrusted to responsible persons for the execution and internal use.
Of the total number of documents received, 662 orders, resolutions, orders, copies of minutes of meetings of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and plans and events were received, as well as 5 laws and resolutions of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, 1238 letters from ministries and departments, 184 letters from local statistical bodies, 424 letters through the Government and e-mail, 122 written appeals from citizens and 37 draft resolutions, to which replies were sent in a timely manner.
One of the most important events of the year was the “Population and Housing Census of the Republic of Tajikistan”. During this important political and national event to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID 19), all temporary staff involved were provided with antiseptic solutions and masks. More than 500 banners and more than 15,000 leaflets were produced and distributed to local statistical offices to advertise the census. In addition, explanatory work was regularly carried out through the mass media (mass media). According to the plan, the preliminary results of the population and housing census of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2020 will be summed up in the first quarter of 2021 and presented by 5 indicators - the total population, gender (men and women), the number of residents in urban and rural areas.
The main results of the census will be obtained taking into account the scanning of its materials, starting from the fourth quarter of 2021 and 2022-2023. As a result of the Agency's activities, representatives of ministries and departments expressed their opinion and gave a satisfactory assessment of the work of statistical bodies.
The Director of the Agency on Statistics, Hasanzoda Gulnora, presented specific instructions to all heads of local statistical bodies in the regions to eliminate existing shortcomings, and also instructed to use international methodology in state statistics. Representatives of ministries and departments also asked questions on sectoral statistics and management, and officials of departments and divisions of the Central Office of the Agency for Statistics gave explanatory answers.
At the same time, the representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Firdavs Mukaddaszoda expressed his opinion on the collection, processing and synthesis of reliable statistical reports, noting that many state programs, national strategies and concepts are based on statistical data. Therefore, statisticians should pay particular attention to the development of statistical policy, as well as ensuring the transparency and reliability of statistics.
At the end of the meeting, the Director of the Statistical Agency summed up the work on the population and housing census, on studying the experience of other countries in order to improve the system of national statistics, on the import and export of basic food products and their prices on the markets, on preparations for the 30th anniversary of the State Independence, and other important issues and gave specific instructions.
