On July 13, 2018, the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held an expanded meeting of the Board on the Results of Activities of the State Statistical Bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first half of 2018 and Further Challenges for 2018 with the participation of the Representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Director of the Agency on statistics, Ms. G. Hasanzoda and Deputy Directors, heads of the departments and divisions of the central offices, the Main Computing Center, the main offices of the departments.
The meeting was opened with an introductory speech by the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Hasanzoda G. K. It was noted that the statistical bodies, guided by the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, orders, instructions of the Leader of State and Decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on statistics worked fruitfully in the first half of 2018.
The results of the activities of the state statistics bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan for 6 months of 2018 and further tasks for 2018 were presented by Mr. Shokirzoda Sh.Sh., First Deputy Director of the Agency on statistics. In particular, it was noted that the statistical work program for the first half of 2018 was executed.
During this time, more than 5.0 thousand of statistical works were submitted. It was received 43 laws and decrees, 300 orders of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, 824 letters from ministries and departments and 92 letters by e-mail, 20 citizens' appeals to which responses were timely submitted. During the first half of 2018, according to the statistical work program, 12 statistical digests, 165 bulletins, 19 information, 67 express information and 52 analytical reports were prepared.
Within the framework of the implementation of National Strategy for the Development of Statistics Project, more than 50 tasks were achieved: a new Law On State Statistics was prepared; 5 surveys were conducted; new equipment has been purchased and installed and the unified data transmission network has been created for electronic reporting and transfer to electronic economic books; the methodology of statistical accounting has been improved in accordance with the international standard; data dissemination has been improved (in standard SDMX format and an open source data cataloging system has been installed, Data Documentation Initiatives and metadata standards); a new web site was created; the capacity of the system staff has been increased;
The equipment has been purchased for the Vahdat College of Statistics, Dushanbe Mountain College and the National University of the Economics Faculty of the Statistics Department, the Institute for Reclamation of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources; to improve the quality of publications and forms of statistical reporting forms the equipment has been supplied for small printers of AS and printing houses of local statistical agencies; it was purchased more than 90 computers, laptops, 55 tablets, 20 printers, 3 new servers for the AS and regional statistical offices of the Agency on statistics, antiviruses, etc.; 40 expert missions were carried out under all project subcomponents, more than 20 study tours were organized for 70 employees of the Agency on statistics and other state agencies in Turkey Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, the Philippines, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan. After training at the Higher School of Economics of the Russian Federation in Moscow, 12 specialists received certificates. The AS organized and conducted training courses on English and Russian languages as well as at the end of the courses the successful students were awarded certificates.
The collegium heard reports of statistical agencies for the first half of 2018 and further tasks at the republican, regional level and Dushanbe.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to such issues as: implementation of the Action Plan for the improvement of statistical reports for the period 2016-2021; on the production of agricultural products; conduction of pilot and basic census of the population and housing and others
After all the speeches, the Chief Specialist of the Strategic Planning and Reforms Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Umed Mirzoyev expressed satisfaction with the work of the statistical bodies for the first half of 2018 and at the same time recalled the strengthening of the work on the completeness of statistical accounting.
At the end of the meeting, taking into account consideration of the agenda items and speeches of heads of local statistical bodies, the Director of the Agency on statistics, Ms. Gulnora Hasanzoda gave specific instructions and the collegium made appropriate decisions.
