On November 22, 2023, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Statistical Council of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Agency for Statistics, the central office of the Agency, representatives of the ministries of finance, economic development and trade, agriculture, labor, migration and employment, education, health and social protection of the population, industry and new technologies, the National Bank of Tajikistan, the State Committee on investments and state property management of the Republic of Tajikistan, committees for tourism development, environmental protection, customs service and border troops.
At the beginning, the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, welcomed those present and spoke about the need to hold the next meeting of the Council.
It was noted that 7 issues will be discussed on the agenda of the meeting. Then the heads of departments of the Agency for Statistics considered the following issues:
- Full transition to the System of National Accounts – 2008: current situation and existing problems;
- The process of complete transition to electronic statistical reporting;
- Indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Republic of Tajikistan: achievements and problems;
- Presentation of a new system for statistical accounting of the receipt and processing of cotton fiber by electronic method using an electronic key (token);
- Improving agricultural statistics and environmental protection;
- Collection, processing and synthesis of statistical report No. 1-sanjish: existing problems in this area;
- The issue of generating statistical information on tourism based on information from border troops.
Questions and answers, as well as useful discussions, were held on these issues and the correct ways of presenting statistical data by the relevant ministries and departments.
