Within the framework of the project “Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan”, representatives of the World Bank

On May 18, 2022, within the framework of the project “Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan”, representatives of the World Bank, Mr. John Bryant and Ms. Gulru Azamova, hosted a meetingof representatives of the project “Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan” and the project “Tax Reform Operation”.

The meeting was also remotely joined by Mr. Tariq Ashraf, theWorld Bank social development specialist and Ms. Nasiba Saidova, the World Bank program assistant.

The purpose of the meeting was exposure ofwith environmental and social development specialists of the project “Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan” of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the “Tax Reform Operation” of the Tax Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was started with an introductory speech by the coordinator of the project “Modernizing the National Statistical System in Tajikistan”, Mr. A. Bobizoda.

On the proposal by the representative of the World Bank, Mr. John Bryant, the project specialists shared their opinion on the current situation regarding the development of project activities and the activities of specialists in the field of environmental protection, in particular with regard to the disposal of electronic waste, organizations that encounter them, as well as methods of their collection, storage, processing and accounting.

During the meeting, the activities carried out until now in the framework of the implementation of projects in the areas of environmental and social development were noted.

In this regard, the specialists of the above-mentioned projects provided detailed informationregarding the environmental and social development.
